Trishya Screwvala


Trishya Screwvala founded The Lighthouse Project with the aim of creating structured and accessible platforms for volunteering. She believes that service is not just a duty but an extraordinary opportunity, and is passionate about creating an environment conducive to volunteering, both within and outside of the social sector.

Trishya is also trustee of The Swades Foundation, which is committed to rural empowerment through interventions in water, health, agriculture, livelihood and education and currently touches 2.5 lac people across Maharashtra. A graduate from USC’s Peter Stark Producing Program, Trishya comes from a background of producing documentaries, including “Bollywood: The Greatest Love Story Ever Told” that premiered at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival and Emmy award nominated “Meet the Patels”, winner of the 2014 Los Angeles Film Festival and Traverse Film Festival Audience Award.

Trishya is a trained ballet dancer under the Royal Academy of Dance. She is an avid diver and an active volunteer at New Acropolis, an international organization dedicated to philosophy, culture and volunteering.

Myron Anthony

Program Director

Myron Anthony is the Program Director at The Lighthouse Project. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce with a specialisation in Management from Mumbai University. Post this he completed the Instructional Design Course by Metamorphs Training Academy and holds a Diploma in Counseling (Person Centered Therapy) from ADMI – Goa. Myron is a professional with a passion for Social Empowerment and loves to design and execute programs that equip people to lead empowered lives. He has a collective experience of 10 years in corporate training & content development, process analysis & improvement and operations with companies like First Source, ICICI Prudential, Aptech Training Solutions, Mexus Education and Aditya Birla. His hobbies include social work, reading, travel and photography.

Madhura Karambelkar

Communications and Ourtreach Executive

Madhura is a Communications and Outreach Executive at The Lighthouse Project. She did her Bachelors in Economics and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Communication for Development from Xavier Institute of Communications, Mumbai.

She started her career interning with NABARD to video document rural success stories in various states of North India. She has worked with the EdelGive Foundation where she managed communications, in-house campaigns and handled the execution of employee volunteering programmes at various NGOs in Mumbai. She has also been with the Barefoot College in Rajasthan where she worked on streamlining their Creche Programme to aid daily wage earning women workers.

Madhura takes an avid interest in street photography and loves to travel and explore new places, cultures and cuisines.

Anusha Pathak

Assistant Program Manager

Anusha Pathak is an Assistant Program Manager at The Lighthouse Project. She has completed her Bachelor’s in Mass Media from Sophia College for Women, Mumbai after which she pursued her Master’s in Social Work from the College of Social Work, Nirmala Niketan, Mumbai.

Anusha began her career with an internship with Garbage Concern Welfare Society, Mumbai, where her role involved understanding and implementing Solid Waste Management practices, Environmental Solutions such as the making India Clean and Green campaign. Later she interned with Bosco Institute of Rural Development, Patiala, Punjab where she worked closely with the children living in the institute and also with women Self Help Groups formed with NABARD in nearby villages. Recently, Anusha worked with Vidi Kamgar Kalyan Pratishthan, Nasik as a Management Trainee where her focus was helping ‘Bidi’ workers and their families create better livelihoods.

Anusha is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer and her Kindle is her most loved possession as reading is the biggest stress buster for her. She loves listening to music and also travelling spontaneously.

Kunaljit Bhatta

Assistant Program Manager

Kunaljit Bhatta is a Assistant Program Manager at The Lighthouse Project. He has completed his Bachelor of Arts from Digboi College. He has completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Tourism Management and recently completed his Masters of Social Work with Specialization in Community Development from Dibrugarh University, Assam.

Kunaljit has worked as an intern with Kripa Foundation. Prior to that he was involved with organizations like SEWA, Gramiya Vikash Mancha, SeSTA wherein he worked closely with children, women and SHG’s. He interned with C.R.H.P (Comprehensive Rural Health Project) in Jamkhed and worked on issues relating to child health care and prenatal care. Kunaljit is particularly passionate about causes involving children and youth.

Kunaljit enjoys watching animated films, documentaries, listening to music and playing the guitar in his free time.

Aaina Maheshwari

Program Coordinator

Aaina Maheshwari is a Program Coordinator at The Lighthouse Project. Aaina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Sophia College For Women,Mumbai and recently pursued her Masters in Social Work from the College of Social Work, Nirmala Niketan, Mumbai.

Aaina has always been fascinated by the social sector and has pursued certificate courses in Social Work, Research Methodology and Social Entrepreneurship along with interning with various organisations like Make-A-Wish, SNEHA, Helpage India, Aangan and United Way.

Aaina loves meeting new people and visiting new places. She is an avid traveller and enjoys escaping for small getaways whenever possible. She loves watching movies and is a big time foodie.

Sarah Husain

Program Coordinator

Sarah Husain is a Program Coordinator at The Lighthouse Project. She has done her graduation from Isabella Thoburn College Lucknow in English, Sociology and Psychology after which, she pursued her Masters in Social Work from College of Social Work-Nirmala Niketan Mumbai.

Sarah has been long associated with the social sector in different ways, from being the Social Service President in school to doing internships at organisations like CRY, Room to Read, Rangoonwala Foundation (India) Trust and Men Against Violence and Abuse (MAVA). She has also interned at Purvanchal Pragati Samaj, a Not-for-Profit working with the tribals of North East India, during the month long internship she stayed in a remote village in the Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh. Working with Self Help Groups made her realize the power of unity and small business strategies.

Sarah likes to write poetry and enjoys watching documentaries while travelling with a backpack.

Marian Sequeira

Program Coordinator

Marian Sequeira is a Program Coordinator at The Lighthouse Project. She Sequeira has done her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the College of Social Work, Nirmala Niketan, Mumbai.

She has interned at an organization where she worked with children and women (prenatal- postnatal care) at a Family Service center and Balwadis and conducted foster care visits. At CORP (Community Outreach Program) she worked with children with mental disability and hearing impairment. During her time at Anubhav, she conducted sessions and workshops with the youth in different colleges on India’s Constitutional values.

Marian loves sports and traveling and enjoys spending her time baking, gardening, and painting.

Sayali Mule

Program Coordinator

Sayali Mule is a Program Coordinator at The Lighthouse Project. She has completed her Bachelors Degree in Social Work from the College of Social Work Nirmala Niketan, Mumbai.

She has worked as an intern with Save the Children, India where she worked with drop out children and with Akanksha Foundation which focuses on providing quality education to the students. She has also worked on the issue of malnutrition with the Foundation for Mother and Child Health.

Sayali enjoys reading books, watching movies and exploring new places.

Gaurangi Lalit

Assistant Program Manager

Gaurangi is an Assistant Program Manager at The Lighthouse Project.

She holds a Degree in Mechanical Engineering from K. J. Somaiya College. She worked as a Senior Engineer in Business Development in Voltas Ltd for two years. Her desire to empower people led her to join The Gandhi Fellowship for 2 years, where she worked in Government schools of Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan focusing mainly on improving learning outcomes for students through field visits, Teacher training workshops, Community immersions and helping students express themselves through various modes. Post that, she was a part of India School Leadership Institute in Pune, as the City Program Manager. In her role, she worked on building leadership qualities in School Leaders across Pune. The intervention in turn supported the school development and learning outcomes of students.

She has completed her Visharad in Bharatnatyam. She is passionate about trekking in the Himalayas and traveling to explore new places.
